Blood cleaning machine(Hemopurifier)

A large version of the machine would be used in a hospital, but a smaller one could be taken to emergencies. It could be a life-safer against the avian flu or bio-weapons like Ebola and small pox, giving people a chance to survive a deadly attack, whether it`s from a terrorist or a virus.

WORKING

The hemopurifier uses antibodies to remove viruses as blood filters through it.It is designed to filter out viruses and toxins before they attack organs.the method is very similar to dialysis, and can be used to help patients with HIV,Hepatitis C,the measles, mumps, the flu,and more.It can also begin working before doctors identify the cause of the illness.

WHAT IS DIALYSIS  ?

Hemodialysis is often used as a treatment for end stage renal disease(ESRD),or kidney failure,in which blood is removed from the body, filtered through an artificial kidney and then the cleaned blood is returned to the body .However, dialysis is also a painful, expensive procedure, and while it cleans the blood well enough to maintain existence,it does little to improve a patient`s overall quality of life. Also, data shows that if patients get  a transplant before they get to the point of dialysis, they do better in the longer time.

Color picker

When ever we see colors which we like, just place the pen against an object and press the scan button. Then the pen mixes inks and makes color which we want to write eith RGB cartridges.

Compose notes inside Firefox

Note making is a essential task while doing research using Net.For this, one has several options:one can use a  text editor like notepad or enlist the service of an on-line editing service. Now,if you are a Firefox user, here is an other option-use an extension that integrates a note editor with browser. For this install the extension ‘Quick Fox Notes’,which lets you create notes on multiple tabs.

A note created thus can easily be saved as a text file(using the ‘Transfer feature’).Well-night all aspects of our life are getting computerized.A consequence of this widespread computerization is the generation of a variety of digital databases.Any research process(business/scientific)now a days involves data analysis and the application of statics.Even outfits such as Google and Face book enlist the extensive of statistical tools.

These on-line services generate huge databases and use statistical tools to extract  patterns and trends from them. For instance,Face book, uses statistical methods to analyse user behavior like finding the user characteristics that significantly predict if a user will continue to stay.

Semiconductor Brain: Nerve Tissue Interfaced With A Computer Chip

biochemmpg Before informational input perceived by the mammalian brain is stored in the long-term memory, it is temporarily memorized in the hippocampus. Understanding the function of the hippocampus as an important player in the memory process is a major topic of current brain research. Thin slices of this brain region provide the appropriate material to study the intact neural network of the hippocampus.
Methods commonly used in neurophysiology are invasive, restricted to a small number of cells or suffer from low spatial resolution. The scientists in Martinsried developed a revolutionary non- invasive technique that enables them to record neural communication between thousands of nerve cells in the tissue of a brain slice with high spatial resolution. This technique involves culturing razor-thin slices of the hippocampus region on semiconductor chips. These chips were developed in collaboration with Infineon Technologies AG and excel in their density of sensory transistors: 16384 transistors on an area of one square millimeter record the neural activity in the brain.

Scary Music Is Scarier With Your Eyes Shut

Prof. Hendler found that the simple act of voluntarily closing one's eyes — instead of listening to music and sounds in the dark — can elicit more intense physical responses in the brain itself. This finding may have therapeutic value in treating people with brain disorders. Listening to sounds with our eyes closed seems to wire together a direct connection to the regions of our brains that process emotions, says Prof. Hendler. "Music is a relatively abstract emotional carrier," says Prof. Hendler. "It can easily take one's subjective personal experience and manipulate it. Our new findings, however, suggest that the effect is not only subjective. Using a functional MRI (fMRI), we can see that distinct changes in the brain are more pronounced when a person's eyes are not being used."

Moller SkyCar

The Skycar
Moller International has developed the first and only feasible, personally affordable, personal vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) vehicle the world has ever seen.

You've always known it was just a matter of time before the world demanded some kind of flying machine which would replace the automobile. Of course, this machine would have to be capable of VTOL, be easy to maintain, cost effective and reliable. Well, we at Moller International believe we have come up with the solution. That solution is the volantor named M400 Skycar. From your garage to your destination, the M400 Skycar can cruise comfortably at 275 MPH (maximum speed of 375 MPH) and achieve up to 20 miles per gallon on clean burning, ethanol fuel. No traffic, no red lights, no speeding tickets. Just quiet direct transportation from point A to point B in a fraction of the time. Three dimensional mobility in place of two dimensional immobility.

Technology
The Skycar volantor developed by Moller International is capable of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) much as a helicopter and flies from point of departure to destination much like an airplane. However, the Skycar volantor is uniquely qualified to travel short distances on the ground as an automobile as well. All this and incredibly, its easy to fly! Actually a computer does the flying. The pilot need only move the controls in the direction he wants to go so that little skill is required. (Still for the time being, the operator will need to have a private pilot's license until the ease of operation and safety are thoroughly demonstrated.) The Moller Skycar is a volantor capable of these remarkable achievements through the use of an arrangement (array - collection - grouping) of proprietary technologies.

Operation
Moller is currently working with the FAA to obtain certification of the M400 Skycar under the "powered lift normal" category. The airworthiness criteria manual, which governs the certification tests, was drafted by a team of FAA personnel and industry representatives. Moller International is a member of this team.

Advantages
1.Low noise is clearly necessary for a Skycar to operate near or within highly populated areas.
2.The Skycar's multiple ducted fan arrangement is designed to generate low fan noise by using modest thrust loading and tip speeds.

3. Hover tests in the earlier M200X demonstrated a noise level of 85 decibels at 50 feet, less than 30% of the noise level produced by a Cessna 150 during take-off.

4. The company's on-going work in mutual noise cancellation is expected to reduce the M400 Skycar noise level sufficiently to eventually allow urban usage.

Surprise In Earth's Upper Atmosphere

The sun, in addition to emitting radiation, emits a stream of ionized particles called the solar wind that affects the Earth and other planets in the solar system. The solar wind, which carries the particles from the sun's magnetic field, known as the interplanetary magnetic field, takes about three or four days to reach the Earth. When the charged electrical particles approach the Earth, they carve out a highly magnetized region — the magnetosphere — which surrounds and protects the Earth.Charged particles carry currents, which cause significant modifications in the Earth's magnetosphere. This region is where communications spacecraft operate and where the energy releases in space known as substorms wreak havoc on satellites, power grids and communications systems. The rate at which the solar wind transfers energy to the magnetosphere can vary widely, but what determines the rate of energy transfer is unclear. The energy of the particles and the fields in the magnetosphere can vary by large amounts. It can be 10 times higher or 10 times lower from day to day, even from half-hour to half-hour.The magnetosphere was discovered in 1957. By the late 1960s, it had become accepted among scientists that the energy transfer rate was controlled predominantly by the interplanetary magnetic field.
